George W. Bush has the blood of 760 Americans on his hands!

Dear Readers,
I would like to extend my deepest apologies for my protracted absence. During my respite I was not resting but working hard in Ask Ken! Industries Unlimited, Ltd.'s genetics lab creating all manner of freakish life forms-- a shrimp that plays soccer and some kind of e.t. alien kind of creature, for example. The excitement of the creativity has been severely dampened by events in Iraq, however. The George W. Bush and those who work for him have managed to obliterate what few shreds credibility the United States had with the world, and more importantly the Iraqi people. The terrible planning on the part of the Bush administration-- if any-- is further soiled by the gross human rights abuses perpetrated and fostered by military culture. Rape, sexual humiliation, torture were/are committed by the hands of Americans. The only thing Rumsfeld seems to know lately is that he left the chart at the office. Jesusholyfuckingchristonacrutch!

Apparently I'm not the only one who's beginning to ask questions about all this. Read on...

Ken!

Dear Ken!,
no, I am not American or British. Nor am I a muslim. But having followed the news I am very worried how muslims all over the world will see non-islamic countries or christianity by now.
It somehow makes me feel very ashamed of how little understanding and tolerance was practised by those very people who were supposed to bring peace and democracy to Iraq.

Not only were people physically tortured or killed in Iraq prisons by their supposed "liberators", they were also forced to perform or imitate sexual acts that go against the very roots of islamic belief and dignity? Somehow I feel that is even worse than physical torture. It declares: "In our opinion you are not even human beings with a right to a religious belief."

I will also never forget the man I have seen on TV who walked down an Iraq street shouting: "So this is your democracy, America? Where are the women doing their shopping? Where are the children walking down this street?"

How can the people responsible for all that can call themselves Christians when christianity preaches "Love thy enemy"? (And that covers religious tolerance.) Will anybody be surprised if the whole western world will be seen as the enemy by (almost) all muslims soon?

Outraged

Dear Outraged,
I certainly won't be surprised-- that moment seems to grow closer by the minute, if it hasn't already passed. And we've been led there by George W. Bush, a born-again Christian who believes in Revelations, the end times and all that. Coincidence?

How many weeks has it been since I last said that I'd never been more ashamed to be an American?

Ken!

Dear Ken!,
Not another email on Iraq!!! Sorry.

I was wondering whether you believe that any real justice will come out of Iraq regarding the so-called soldiers employed as so-called prison guards. Or whether you think the institution, in the best interest of America and coincidently themselves, will blow and rant and then quietly slap a few (obviously limp) wrists. I ask this, wondering what the average American feels should happen to these turds, keeping in mind the number their own citizens we all know that they have now condemned to death.

Frederick, obviously the guiding force behind the bulk of abuses, has already began detailing his defence.

He was told to do it by the CID - which is actually ACID but they missed a great opportunity. So if they told him to put his little weener into the bar fire...etc. etc.

He didn't get the training - without which of course we all become psychotic, homesexual, violent and abuses sadists when placed in a position of care and trust.

He stated there were 900 prisoners at some points and only 5 guards - whom, judging by the photographs, should be also charged with neglect of the other 850 while they found time to enjoy sport and engage in playful photographic sessions. At least twenty five dead so obviously he was helping his country by reducing his charge.

I would like to CID whether (if indeed they are partly involved) two questions. One would be whether they instructed him and his cronies to take photographs and save them to CD for their own personal gratification.

Secondly, if they do instruct part-time shit flickers, who call themselves soldiers merely because they are allowed to polished a small weapon while robed in second hand jungle fatigues, to engage in these state of the art interogations, why did they chose a creature with the character of Frederick. He is obviously going to snitch like a bitch.

I was also concerned with the general condition of the prison guards, every one a salad dodger - is it compulsary to only employ Floridians?

On listening to Rumsfeld, he seemed curiously concerned with the digital cameras, which he termed a "weapon" - so maybe a flash ban could be the answer.

Personally I think that the justice cannot be severe enough and should be taken out of military hands. This has gone beyond missing WMDs. I think that anyone that thinks this is another Vietnam has badly underestimated the situation - as I fear this one will follow them home for generations to come.

Blame my parents for my name - it is Sven but Swedish can be a bitch in translation.

Temporarily concerned until another distraction comes my way.

Dear Temporarily concerned until another distraction comes my way.,
Our only moral option is to prosecute them according to our established laws. To do any worse would be sinking to their level. What I want to know is who in command authorized or allowed such inhumane activities?

With all their talk about morality they need to learn that the ends do not justify the means.

Ken!

Dear Ken!,
What can I do for my country?

Ask Not

Dear Ask Not,
Talk to your friends about this crazy shit that's going on. Figure out some way to express how you feel about it-- design a poster, build a web site, organize an event, write letters to the editor, call those crazy fucking radio talk shows. Take to the streets and make your voices be heard. Call the Whitehouse 202-456-1414 or email the President. If you're an American, vote. If you care, you'll get three other people to vote.

Ken!

Dear Ken!,
some quotes as to the "different" realities and how to sort them out - Woody Allen once said:

"I hate reality, but it's the only place you can get a good steak!"

E.E. Kisch, famous European journalist:
"Reality is the strongest drug there is..."

Anonymous:
"Any connection between your reality and mine is strictly coincidental."

The Cat in Red Dwarf
"Reality sucks..."

Which quote does best describe "your" sense of reality?

RealityBites

Dear RealityBites,
I'm going to have to go with the often quoted but always elusive Anonymous on this one, Wink.
